Western Union Prepaid Master Card

The recent death of Apple pioneer Steve Jobs and the intense celebrity afforded his life and passing serves to reaffirm just how powerful hi-tech and web technology has become in little over a generation. Meanwhile the recent global financial crisis has shown that traditional institutions such as banks and insurance companies are vulnerable to slick and shaky business dealings in the marketplace, and it also points to the increased necessity for fast and clean transactions across time zones and markets. And, one could add, the need for transactional options beyond traditional banking. The ability to move money around, to pay people, including en masse, without the use of bank accounts or cumbersome wire transfer systems, is as important as instant messaging, social networking, and which star has been seen with a new beau!
The speed and facility of money transfers of past eras seem almost 'horse and buggy' now, and in fact they are. In the late 19th century Western Union had become the original communications empire creating and dominating the telegraph industry with systems that are still the foundation of American communications businesses today. But telegrams were slow relative to today's near speed of light transmissions. By 1914 Western Union had created the first charge card, and then by the 1&90's had moved primarily into the money transfer business, but still in many cases this requires a customer to go physically to a Western Union office to organize transfer, and the recipient to similarly attend an office somewhere to receive payment. The moving of money back and forth therefore can be costly if you are in business and need to transfer to many people at one time. It can also be time consuming. Wire transfers, in particular sent to less advanced countries, can take a number of days to arrive. For a person running a business having to visit an office several times to await money is simply ineffective.
But this era has seen the emergence of sophisticated fast user-friendly pay services that have even outshone the once brilliant and enduring star of Western Union. The most famous of these of course is PayPal, where customers and businesses can send and receive money online with ease and safety. With over 100 million members in almost every country it is a trusted service accepted by merchants everywhere using cutting edge security and fraud prevention methods to protect the sensitive credit card and personal data of users.
However PayPal also has its limitations and some argue while it is ideal for casual consumers of products and services, being relatively simple and effective, it does not so easily accommodate regular transactions for a business that is paying a number of employees, nor ordinary transactions in retail shopping or accessing funds via ATM machines. And, it still requires bank accounts in order to receive and allocate payments.
These and other reasons are why Payoneer has arisen, to pioneer and bridge the gaps still existing in the sophisticated money transfer business, and to provide options for those who would prefer to bypass traditional banking and avoid the increasing fees that most banks levy worldwide. The often cumbersome and unnecessary credit checks and other 'big brother' attitudes of many banks can also be avoided by this safe, legal and speedy technology.
Based in New York, Payoneer was created in 2005 by Yuval Tal. Now president of the company, Tal's many years of experience in online transactions, innovative services and smart solutions began when he founded one of the first successful Internet payment companies E4X, later renamed FiftyOne, valued at over half a billion dollars by the time he left. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, and a master degree in biomedical engineering, minor in business administration.
Yuval Tal's most valuable expertise lies in the areas of security technology, foreign currency exchange and of particular value in this era, prepaid card applications. Undoubtedly security is the number one concern for any significant business or individual using internet to transfer funds, while in the free market multi-national economy, understanding foreign currency exchange can be key to the difference between nominal and significant profits.
But it is the sophisticated application of pre-paid card technology that sees Payoneer shining brighter than its competitors. Payoneer offers prepaid MasterCard cards giving business and private customers a swift, secure and professional way of receiving online payment, and dispensing with the significant costs of bank transfers, checks and similar &;older' technologies. The MasterCard card enables transfer anywhere via Internet or by using ATM machines or even cash registers in retail shops around the world.
On a larger scale Payoneer is an ideal mechanism for transferring monies to employees or contractors on the payroll, or as a professional international affiliate maintaining trustworthy fluid access to earnings. Top online advertising network MediaWhiz for example, uses Payoneer to pay its 25, 000 publishers. In 2007 MediaWhiz paid out $100 million alone, through Payoneer, which itself has seen a year to year growth of 100% over the past four years. The company's affiliates include online stores, freelancers, contractors and collaborators, including game developers - and maybe fast -paced paparazzi that have snapped that shot of the star with a new beau, and needs swift payment!

How to Apply for a Western Union Card
Western Union offers a prepaid NetSpend MasterCard to make it easier to shop and pay bills without a bank account. You can also use your card to receive paychecks and government benefits paid through direct deposit. The FDIC insures the funds held on your NetSpend card to give you added security.
You can apply for a NetSpend card on Western Union's website or visit a nearby branch. You will be asked for your name, mailing address and email address. No credit check is required to obtain a prepaid card. You must transfer money from a bank account or use a credit card to purchase funds to load your card.
Make sure you understand the terms and conditions that apply to your card so you do not get surprised by hidden fees. The terms may change at any time, so it is best to sign in to your account online or call Western Union's customer service line to verify the provisions that apply to your individual account.
